The Suspicious Frenzy of Mallam N. Rufai's visit to Anambara Governorship Elections.

On Saturday, 16th November 2013, during the  Governorship elections in Anambara State , South eastern part of Nigeria, an opposition critic of the ruling PDP party, stormed Anambara state but was restricted to leave his hotel room by men of  Nigerian SSS.

News of  Mallam Rufai's movement restriction to monitor the elections going on spread and people including  jacqui  wondered what he was doing in the state since he was not under any of the INEC Supervision/monitor team.

Let me say from my own personal analysis what i think of  Mallam  Rufai as a person and the hotel drama he had in Anambara State.   I got to study the political will and non-nonsense manner of this man when he was incharge of the FCT(federal capital city) of Nigeria Abuja. While in office his leadership was   swallowed by Nigerians with mixed feelings due to his rugged and iron hand leadership which if you ask me , suited Nigerians depending on how we operate here. I personally admired his style of leadership but shortly during his tenure, i left Nigeria and was not around when he finished his service.
When i came back to Nigeria couple of years later, i kept seeing him on T.V being paraded by one of Nigerian Criminal offence body, (EFCC) Economic Financial Crime Commission and i was troubled ...honestly i was till this moment as i write this. I started asking question why he is involved with a criminal body whose job includes jailing offenders of Corruption in Nigeria. Up till now, i never really got a specific answer to why Mallam Rufia should be involved with EFCC going with the good record i had of him while he was in office. Sure i admired his leadership and bold nature of speaking out though he can be a ''pain'' at times in his utterances.

The latest of Mallam Rufai now is this controversial visit he made to an Election exercise without permit of those conducting elections and the state Government seized him. ( i can imagine the drama pinning down a man like Rufai in such a situation).

The question by many and myself also is --what exactly did he go there to do on such critical and sensitive elections considering the issues surrounding the party he belongs to? Now, Mallam Rufai like every other Nigeria or even a foreigner has the right to observe the elections as an individual but the issue here is that, this man supersede his recognition as just an ordinary individual looking around during an election day without creating a ???????.......The question marks here are left for you to fill in because even jacqui can not really pinpoint why he was there and what the SSS saw that made them ground him..oh sure the man was simply grounded!!! What other name do you want me to use to describe his hotel arrest......ok... sorry..detention..or ....movement restriction? 

Considering who he is, who knows what would have happened if he was allowed to achieve his aim of being in that State on the 16th of November, 2013? Anything could have happened i tell ya!!!! The man is streaming ''hot and suffocating '' to his opponents and if you were his opponents, would you have given him the freedom to ''roam about''?  No ...let us face this people.....Mallam Rufai is one FEARLESS individual who goes out to do what he wants to do even it means bruising your ten toes......

What ever you went to Anambara State to do Oga Rufai,  that was a heck of big risk you took going to a ''grenade'' state like Anambara at such a critical time.  I learnt you are looking for revenge for being restricted huh?....you want to sue some people....just let it go Sir... ....who knows what would have happened if you were not restricted and allowed to step into the town...who knows? It could have been worse.....

Finally, a word on this INEC Epileptic excuse with lateness of this and that of logistics....how long will this continue? This has been a regular issue in every Election in this country and it has happened again after all their long preparations for this election? I think it's high time the person(s) incharge of this lateness of ballot this...accreditation this  that keeps occurring and disrupting voting gets the boot so others will sit up.---  Jacqui
